Been running so long

So maybe Netflix is not going to help me get in better shape but it sure makes me happier. I watched "13 Going on 30" today. I saw the first 30 min or so when I was getting a cavity filled at the dentist. They have this really cool system where the DVD player is hooked up to goggles and you see the movie in the goggles. A nice distraction from the drilling and poking.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for my teeth), I didn't get to watch the whole thing. So I put it in my Netflix queue. I *loved* this movie. It completely met my expectations for a movie: entertaining, fun, great music, and no annoying actors.

I guess I'm exactly the right target audience for this movie since it was filled with 80s songs and references. I was laughing so hard, I almost fell off the couch during the scene where she does the "Thriller" dance. I guess I wasn't the only kid who tried to figure out the choreography while watching that 13 minute long video over and over again! of course, in the movie, she got it all right. I was just sort of uncoordinated. (Oh wait, I still am.)

Anyway, if you're a child of the 80s, rent this movie. It's hilarious. Plus Jennifer Garner is awesome. I've liked her ever since that one episode of Law and Order she was on, where she seduced Benjamin Bratt (I mean really, who wouldn't??). Maybe I should put Alias in my Netflix queue.

Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend. I'm still recovering from Thursday's lunges with Tracy - hopefully I'll be able to get back to my C25K workout tomorrow.

  1. Loved this movie!!! You know that I was 13 the year the movie starts out in (1987). I do own this movie too, although if you have cable it's on from time to time. Jennifer Garner is great - definitely rent Alias - we're 1/2 way through the second season. Alias was created or produced by the same guy that did Lost, so the episodes end on these suspenseful notes, Mike and I found it addicting!

  2. Oh do put Alias in your netflix. I got totally addicted to it. But be sure you have about a year of your life to watch it and not do anything else. = )

My favorite part of the movie is when she's in the elevator with the little girl who says, "I like your dress." and JG says, "Me too. And I have these great boobs for it." I love it.

  3. Jennifer Garner IS adorable. Did you watch her on Felicity?

Thanks for your e-mail!!! I'll definitely send you a note in the next few days...I'd do it sooner, but it's hard to find time to sit down for more than 5 minutes at a time. Chat soon!

  4. @Jenn - I have put Alias Season 1 in my Q. I love netflix. I also love the outfits she's wearing in 13 Going on 30 and how they made them look like a 13 year old would pick them out.

@Sonya - looking forward to hearing from ya. I don't remember JG on Felicity at all, but I only watched the first 2 seasons. Was she on after that?

  5. I love this movie too! It's kind of like a girl version of the movie, "BIG", that I loved as a kid. Totally cute. JG played the ex girlfriend of Noel on Felicity. She was also married to him in real life, after they met on the show. She didn't have a huge part, but she was in several episodes.

    Take care,
    PSG

  6. omg I loved this movie too! And I totally got addicted to Alias, which was great for breaks during thesis writing. The later seasons are not as brilliant as the first two though.
