Finally changed the colors! Yay. The actual day of the Superbowl I had to root for the Seahawks since they were clearly the underdogs. I even bought a really cool blue and green striped sundress to wear to the Super Bowl party I went to. Of course, it's been way too cold in Seattle to even think about wearing it, but I will in 2 weeks when we're in Hawaii. WOOHOO!
Got sucked back into American Idol. Go Taylor!!
And thanks to Leslie and being sick for that week back in January, am totally hooked on Project Runway. Love it. Looove Chloe. I am absolutely addicted to these reality talent shows.
Oh, and TJ got a new job at Microsoft. Within 2 days, he had interviewed *and* gotten an offer. Must be a new record in Microsoft HR history... He starts on Monday. My friend Nathalie was teasing me, saying we'd be walking to work holding hands. I doubt that, but it'll be nice to have lunch together sometimes, and we'll try really hard to either walk or carpool, because each of us driving a separate car less than 2 miles to work is just lame.
Trying valiantly to get back on the exercise wagon. Have walked to work a couple of times this week, which is good. TJ and I have been drinking a lot of wine lately, though, which sort of cancels that effort out. I'll post about the yummy wines we've had sometime later.
But now, I'm sleepy and want to go to Le Pro Club before work tomorrow. TTFN.

I don't want to have to pay for this
Hmmm. I feel like I've abandoned my blog - I'm posting here almost as infrequently as I do in my work blog. I'm going through a blah period, folks, one that almost always happens at this time of year, ever since college. Weird, huh? Maybe I really am sensitive to the weather.
I had a great weekend in Los Angeles. Saw several college buddies: Bryce, Mike, Coop, and West. Met Linda, who I remember seeing at Tech but never knew her. Very interesting, motorcycle-riding gal. Actually had a conversation with Tom Mannion, probably the only administrator at Caltech who "gets" and even likes, Caltech students. He was hired around the end of my time at Tech so he knows a lot of the Rudds from my time. He invited me to his house for the Super Bowl party that Fleming organizes, and that was a lot of fun. (Even the part when the kid sitting next to me said he was born in 1986. Yikes! And he's in college.) I had a lovely massage at the Amadeus Spa in Pasadena. Very swanky. I ate at In N Out twice, had chili cheese fries at Lucky Boy (is it bad that they *don't* make me sick??) and had awesome, awesome Mexican food somewhere near Glendale.
Tomorrow is a day of serious work for me. I am drowning in my work email and have a gajillion "action items" on my plate. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked "hey, so how's it going with xyz thing you promised you'd do?" this week alone. Does that mean I'm working on too many things at once?? Or maybe this is just that comfortable busy that means I serve a useful purpose at work. I'm still torn about what I want to be when I grow up. I don't even have a real 5-year plan right now and it's bugging me. Heck, I'm not even sure what I want to be doing a year from now. Consulting made me so short-attention-span, I can't contemplate what it's like to work in the same job for more than a year and half.
Time to catch some zzzzs. Now that the weather is marginally better, I'm trying to get some walking in each day. Good for our 112-lb Fat Peanut, and good for me.

Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound
Can you tell I'm enamored with the newest Death Cab for Cutie CD? I don't usually like sensitive man singers, but their lyrics are just brilliant and the music is very soothing.
Leslie and I had lunch today at the very fabulous Preet's Casual Indian Dining. It's by far the hippest Indian restaurant I've been to because the decor is nice and not the usual Taj Mahal cheese-fest. And the menu has nice graphic design, too. But the best thing (as it should be) was the food. We split a samosa chaat and each had a parotha. Super YUM and totally vegetarian. My new lunch favorite for sure.
The sad news is that Leslie, Jorge, and Lola are moving to San Francisco because Jorge got a job at Genentech. Which is good for them but sad for me. I guess it's another reason for me to make more weekend trips to fun places, huh? And San Francisco still has the only H&M store on the West Coast, which is a destination unto itself. Well, once I recover from the serious shopping Leslie and I did in Vancouver a few weeks ago, that is.
And speaking of Vancouver, thanks to Nathalie, I tried the amazing delicacy known as poutine. Fries, gravy and cheese curds - what could be better? Reminds me of the amazing chili cheese fries we used to get every week at Lucky Boy in Pasadena.
And speaking of Pasadena, I'm here now for the Caltech Alumni Admissions Coordinator conference. So there, I've caught you up on my whereabouts for the past couple of weeks. So what's going on with y'all out there?
