I had to miss the last drum lesson in January because of our trip to Savannah to visit my parents. And that was a sad trip indeed. I started coming down with a cold the day before we left, and had the worst of it the entire time we were there. So mostly I slept and read books. One of the cool things about my parents' house is that there's no shortage of good books lying around. Maybe my next visit will be more peppy.
So instead of starting private drum lessons, I decided to retake the beginner series in February. I had this idea after the first class would have been over, but I figured that was ok. When I called, it turns out they postponed the start of the class by a week, and extended each class by 15 min. Woo hoo! So I signed up again.
When I got there on Thursday, it turned out that there are only 2 students in the class - me and a 5th grader. So it's almost like private lessons, which is pretty cool. This kid in my class is adorable, and I almost fell out of my seat when he said his favorite bands were Slipknot and Godsmack. How cool is that?
So my goal is to make time to practice a lot in the coming weeks, and perhaps get a drum kit at home by the end of the month. I'm still working on convincing TJ that this is a good idea :)
